This month’s Muse Studio Session invites you into a floral study using charcoal and tracing paper. You’ll be guided through a simple and expressive process to create translucent botanical artwork perfect for layering, journaling, or simply enjoying as a finished piece.
✨ We’ll also explore how to photograph flowers with your cell phone in natural light—a quick and accessible way to capture your own reference images, whether from your garden, a local park, or a farmer’s market. I’ll share how I use these photos as inspiration for drawing and painting, helping you build a personal library of creative material.
In this mixed-media class, you'll learn how to create translucent floral artwork using charcoal on tracing paper, producing soft, impressionistic botanical studies perfect for framing or collage.
You'll also learn how to capture your own floral references like an artist—with just your cell phone and natural light. I’ll walk you through how I photograph freshly picked flowers outdoors to create ideal references for drawing and painting—whether from your own garden, a nearby park, or a local farmer’s market.
