COURSE OVERVIEW

Discover how light and shadows can transform the mood and emotional impact of a portrait.

Working from in-class photography taken on your cell phone, you will create striking black-and-white images using three natural light techniques, each offering a distinct emotional atmosphere.

These photographs will be transferred to a paintable surface, eliminating the need for advanced drawing skills and allowing you to focus on painting.

Using a limited monochromatic palette, you will explore:

• Glazing

• Acrylic Image Transfers

• Exploring Depth and contrast with charcoal

With guided instruction and creative freedom, you will complete three finished portraits while building both technical skill and confidence.
