These collections span my journey as a photographer and artist, from early photography of every day life and family to my current work in mixed media and encaustic exploring animals, nature, and emotional presence.
This body of work is formed through lived experience, moments of connection, observation, and reflection in nature. Each chapter reflects a different way of seeing the world, and a different stage of my life.
The Wisdom of the Herd
An encaustic and photographic collection inspired by the quiet strength, devoltion and enduring bonds of elephant families. Through intimate moments of connection, these works reflect the wisdom found in community, nurturing relationships, and the power of presence.
Wild Grace
Inspired by encounters with zebras in the Serengeti, this collection explores themes of belonging, on authenticity, and connection. Through photography and encaustic medium, these works, celebrate the grace of living true to one's nature while remaining connected to the herd and the larger web of life
Elephants Up Close
Inspired by a profound encounter in the Ngorongoro Crater, this collection captures moments of connection, curiosity, and presence as two elephants emerged from the forest and approached. Through intimate portraits and interactions between the elephants, these images invite reflection on the wisdom that can rise arise, when we pause, listen and truly see.
Grace Through Winter
Created from years of observing swans through courtship, nesting, parenthood, and community, this collection reflects themes of resilience, devotion, transformation. Through charcoal and acrylic mixed media, these work, celebrate the enduring strength that allows life to continue and flourish, even through life's most challenging seasons.
The Call of Freedom
Inspired by encounters with the wild white horses of the Camargue, this collection explores themes of freedom, authenticity, and self-discovery. Created during a period of profound personal change, these photographs reflect the courage to follow one's own path and trust the wisdom of the heart.
It's Never Too Late
Created during an artist residency at the Kortright Centre, this collection follows a colony of Great Blue Herons through the nesting season. From courtship and nest building to raising young and their first flight, these images reflect themes of renewal, perseverance, and the quiet courage required to begin again.
Winged Wisdom
This collection brings together a diverse gathering of birds whose presence offered inspiration, insight, and encouragement. Through intimate portraits and moments of interaction, the work explores the lessons nature offers when we are willing to pay attention.
Sanctuary
These forest images are drawn from familiar walking paths near home, where stillness, seasonality, and quiet observation become a refuge. Created through photography and mixed media exploration, including work on Japanese paper, this collection reflects the grounding presence of trees and the restorative nature of returning to the forest.
NORTH
The north represents stillness, reflection, and the leader stages of life. This collection brings together early photographic works, exploring Winter, landscapes, quiet moments of meditation, aging, and the beauty found in simplicity and stillness. Through snow, covered forms, bear trees, and moments of inward reflection, these images hold a sense of pause and deep presence.
SOUTH
The south represents warmth, growth, and the fulness of life. This collection brings together early photographic, works, inspired by summer light, gardens, family, life, and moments of connection. From childhood wonder and new beginnings to intimate human relationships, and the natural abundance of the garden, these images celebrate the beauty of presence in everyday life
EAST
The East represents beginnings, emergence, and awakening. This collection brings together early photographic works of children, new life, and the natural world in moments of discovery and wonder. From newborns and family connection to gardens, butterflies, birds and seasonal renewal, these images reflect the beauty of beginnings and the unfolding of life.
WEST
The West represents water, reflection, and the inward journey. This collection brings together early photographic, works, centred around oceans, lakes, and the presence of water as a space for healing and meditation. Featuring moments of stillness, prayer, and connection with nature. These images, explore intuition, emotional depth, and the quiet act of returning to oneself.
