Photograped during multiple safaris in Tanzania, this series emerged through hours of quietly observing elephant herds at dawn and sunset. Nancy was continually drawn to the peaceful interactions within the matriarchal groups; moments of care, guidance, and closeness that revealed a powerful emotional depth in the wild.

An encaustic and photographic collection inspired by the quiet strength, devotion and enduring bonds of elephant families. Through intimate moments of connection, these works reflect the wisdom found in community, nurturing relationships, and the power of presence.
